In this presentation Christine will share her experiences over her 25 years in professional sport working in “the business of emotion” across professional sporting clubs in Rugby League, Rugby Union, AFL and Basketball.

She will talk about how living out values helps drive positive outcomes when they are embedded in a meaningful way into business and how to stay true to your path when faced with challenges.


Biography

Christine Finnegan has recently been appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the Tasmania JackJumpers.

Christine has over 25 years experience in professional sport commencing her career at Tennis Australia and progressing through the ranks of three football codes including Rugby Union (ACT Brumbies and Melbourne Rebels); Rugby League (Melbourne Storm); AFL (AFL Players Association and St Kilda Football Club) as well as the Commonwealth Games.

Christine is a people driven leader with expertise in brand and commercial operations.  She relocated to Tasmania to in October 2020 to start up the Tasmania JackJumpers as their Chief Commercial and Marketing officer and following a 6 months stint as their interim CEO has now been permanently appointed to the role.

Christine was part of the inaugural AFL Women in Leadership Program and the AFL Executive Leadership Program which has nurtured up and coming talent to Chief Executive roles.  She is a passionate advocate for women to find pathways in male dominated environments particularly in the sports industry.
